For sour milk, add 1 1/2 tsp vinegar to 1/2 cup of milk.

- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 sticks margarine
- 1 cup water
- 3 tbs cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup sour milk
Frosting Ingredients
- 1 stick margarine
- 3 tbs cocoa
- 5 tbs milk
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
- Cake: Stir together flour, sugar and salt, then set aside.
- Bring margarine, water, and cocoa to a boil then pour over flour mixture.
- Beat eggs, baking soda, vanilla, and sour milk together, then add to chocolate mixture and mix well.
- Bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes.
Frosting Directions
- Heat margarine, cocoa, and milk to dissolve, and remove from heat.
- Add sugar, nuts, and vanilla to above mixture.
- Poke holes into the cake with knife and pour frosting onto the cake while still hot.
